Timberscapes was founded in 1986 by Hugh Morris and Robert McQuillan. The two men met in the early 80s while working at a retaining wall company. Though they were both in their twenties at the time, Hugh and Robert already knew that what they really wanted was to work for themselves. So they teamed up to start Timberscapes.

Over the years, Timberscapes has changed with the times. While most customers wanted timber retaining walls 20 years ago, today's homeowners desire a wide range of options and Timberscapes offers everything from boulders and natural stone to modular block and timbers.

Boulder retaining walls are a Timberscapes' specialty, though, because their natural beauty and craftsmanship adds lasting value to any landscape. "Unlike other types of retaining walls that deteriorate to some degree as they age, boulder walls just get better looking over time," says Morris. "
